Gigi Hadid is showing some sisterly love.
The 28-year-old took a moment to give a shoutout to her sister Bella Hadid while updating followers on the status of Bella's battle with chronic Lyme disease, which the 26-year-old has struggled with since she was a teenager.
After sharing a photo with Bella from a photoshoot to her Instagram Story on July 26, Gigi took a moment to clarify the circumstances behind the photo.
"Just wanna touch on this post from last week," she wrote over the image on her August 1 Story. "Bella just finished a long and intense treatment for Lyme disease.. (Didn't want some to take my post as a promise she'll be back next season...)"
The Guest in Residence founder added, "I'm so proud of her and excited for her comeback whenever she feels ready," alongside a smiling emoji.
This update comes after news that Bella has been on medical leave for the last few months to put her health and wellness first. On July 19 an insider told E! News of the situation, "She is treating her Lyme disease. She is not in rehab and has never had a drug or alcohol issue."
Over the years, the supermodel has been very candid about her health journey—most recently, about her decision to not drink.
Back in March, Bella shared that she was 5 months "alcohol free" and more recently, she celebrated a new sobriety milestone.
"I'm so proud of anyone pushing through dry July," she wrote in a July 25 Instagram post while promoting her non-alcoholic beverage brand Kin Euphorics. "With Kin and lots of self love, I am almost 10 months no alcohol!"
Back in 2022, Bella explained her reasoning for wanting to try going alcohol-free.
"My body does not do well with alcohol," she told W Magazine at the time while doing her first Dry January. "And in the fashion industry, we work a lot. So we feel like at night we can play a lot, and then wake up and do it again. And I realized that is not a sustainable life for me to live."
